  1. Today I traveled to the department store in southern alabama to return some gifts I didn’t think I would use. Tina Turner got me a greasy ice-cream cone because they knew I loved painting — but really I stopped liking that 14 years ago. This year all the cool kids got coffee cups or batteries. I really wanted one of those, but the store was sold out, so I had to settle for a metallic bean seed.
