Short Kids Poem: Butterflies

short kids poem butterflies

All summer long, on nights with full moons,
the butterflies decorate with gum balloons.

They put on their dresses and black pinstripe suits.
The ladies make perfumes from seasonal fruits.

They waltz and they bow as they twirl and sway
to the soft, sacred songs that the cricket bands play.

If you’re ever invited, please give me a call.
I’d love to go dance at a butterfly ball.
