I’m standing on a chair!
I’m standing on a chair!
I don’t know why Mom’s worried
I’m just standing on a chair!
You’d think she’d be freaked out
By the lion in my room
But seeing shoes on fabric
Is what really makes her fume.
I bath with toxic jellyfish.
I ride a crocodile.
But if I’m on the sofa then
Her mood becomes hostile.
I often sleep with scorpions
And wrestle with a bear.
I don’t know why Mom’s worried.
I’m just standing on a chair!

Oh how I love making mud cakes,
When it’s raining, I run out the door.
After I get back inside, Mom calls:
“Take off your shoes and please clean the floor!”
Great rhyme, Adam! I’m guessing your mom didn’t like shoes on the chairs either :)
In what book/books is your poem “I’m standing in a chair” published?
I just ordered “My sister steals my shoes” and I’m hoping it is in there.
Hi Kim. “I’m standing on a chair” is published in “My sister steals my toys” as you had hoped. Thanks for the purchase and I hope you enjoy the book.
